Merry Christmas from Dartmoor

P1010095

Merry Christmas Everyone,

During October I gave a ridden demonstration with Apollo in Bovey Tracey. I thoroughly enjoyed this event and it was lovely to see so many of you there. We discussed the importance of having a horse’s mind with us and how the feel/ understanding between horse and rider instigates the quality of lateral work and transitions. I also worked with Morgan's youngster Ash. We talked about the importance of 'going with' a young horse in order for them to get with us and follow our feel to go at any speed and to stand quietly. I then demonstrated and talked through how I go about helping a young horse to understand the meaning of each rein. Thank you again to Morgan for bringing Ash and to Kim for holding this event at her yard.

In March or April 2011 I will be giving a demonstration afternoon for Shipton Riding Club in the Bridport area. Details of this event will be emailed around in the new year.

During the first 2 weeks of March 2011 I will be in Arizona for further training with Harry Whitney. Harry has been my main teacher over the last 9 years. I have included below an article of an interview with him, in hope that his words might be of help to you too. I look forward to writing my spring Newsletter in which I'll once again include experiences from my visit.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Anna
